Grand Peak Academy
Our Mission – The mission of the Grand Peak Academy is to develop students of great character, who are culturally aware, accepting of diversity, appreciators of history, arts, mathematics, and sciences, and are prepared to meet the challenges of the world today. We value parental partnership through direct involvement in classroom and school activities and community stewardship through our support of local charities and hosting of community events. (Anti-Discrimination Statement) Core Virtues – We teach children the importance of character via core virtues, which guides their behavior and gives them a better understanding of how they contribute to the world around them. Leadworthy Character Traits – Each month, our teachers grow the heart of our students by focusing on a specific Leadworthy character trait. The Capturing Kids’ Hearts model has identified 9 character traits to focus on throughout the year. The lessons are designed to teach the definition of the character trait and to build deeper connections with our students and encourage students to connect with one another. All of the Leadworthy character lessons intentionally support and reinforce state and nationally-recognized student needs and identified skills, including: Student competencies 21st-century learning components College and career readiness skills
