We built HomeTrail to make it easier for parents to lead their children's learning and enjoy life together.

We're a family of six in Fort Collins, Colorado. Our oldest is 11. When we tried traditional preschool, we realized we wanted a different kind of family life: more time together, more room to follow our children's curiosity, and more freedom to shape our days. Homeschooling gave us that opportunity.
It also came with a lot to keep track of. Plans, books, activities, photos, and records could easily become a job of their own. We brought our experience in software development to that problem and built the tools we wanted for our own family.
Parents are not a problem to solve around.
We're not interested in replacing parents with a more sophisticated learning system. We want to put better tools in their hands. The point isn't to optimize every minute of childhood. It's to help families raise curious, capable people and build a life they enjoy together.
Kids deserve time to be kids. Time to play, get bored, make things up, and follow their curiosity without an agenda. Not every moment needs to become a lesson, and not every interest needs to become an assignment.
Parents don't have to know everything or do everything themselves. Teachers, tutors, coaches, community, and good software can all help. You can draw on that expertise while staying in charge of what matters for your family.
Technology should give you more room to parent.
