Newberry First Steps - Library-Based Program

Newberry First Steps offers a Library-Based Program aimed at providing literacy activities tailored for preschool-aged children, particularly 3 and 4-year-olds, in Newberry County. The program focuses on early childhood literacy, engaging children in storytelling and book reading sessions designed to prepare them for future schooling. Additionally, the program includes training for staff involved in child care and preschool education, enhancing the educational support available to young learners. This initiative is part of a county-level effort to ensure children begin their educational journey healthy and ready to learn with a strong foundation in literacy.
