Each badge has a list of requirements that encourages participants to learn new skills, acquire new knowledge, take field trips, and provide service to their communities. While there are certain requirements that are mandatory to earn a badge, there are plenty of optional requirements as well to let each participant focus on aspects of the topic that interest them.
