Based in Longmont, Colorado, the Longmont Sister Cities Association develops and fosters relationships between people of many cultures. Our first sister city association with Chino, Japan, began in 1991, followed by Ciudad Guzman, Mexico, in 1998. We recently signed an agreement with our new Sister City, the Northern Arapaho of the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming in September of 2021. ​Each summer, Longmont hosts a student exchange with our sister cities. ​Throughout the year, we work in our community to host fundraisers for student travel and participate in activities that promote cultural awareness and understanding. ​Become a student ambassador Picture Experience the adventure of a lifetime as a Student Ambassador to Japan, Mexico or the Wind River Reservation through Longmont Sister Cities. To be eligible, you must be enrolled in 8th - 11th grade in a public, private or charter school within the St. Vrain Valley School District.
