HONORING AFRICAN AMERICANS WHO HELPED SETTLE AND DEVELOP THE WESTERN UNITED STATES The Museum began with Paul Stewart, who as a child playing cowboys and Indians, always played an Indian because he was told, "There is no such thing as a Black Cowboy."
