HomeTrail allows you to set attendance based on what it means for you and your student. Since attendance requirements vary by state, location, and personal homeschooling style, we don’t pre-fill this information—you define it yourself.
Think about your state’s legal requirements or your personal homeschooling goals. For example, in Colorado, the law requires 172 days of instruction per year, with an average of four hours per day. In this case, you might enter "4 hours" as your attendance criteria.
Once you’ve set an attendance value, marking a student as "attended" means they have met that requirement for the day. If you entered "4 hours," checking attendance indicates that your student completed four hours of homeschooling.
This flexible system ensures you can track attendance in a way that aligns with your needs while staying compliant with any regulations that apply to you.
There’s no required start date for tracking attendance in HomeTrail—you can begin whenever it works best for you. Attendance will automatically reset when you graduate a student to the next school year.
Start tracking attendance at any time.
When you move a student to the next year, their attendance record will reset.
