5 Acre Woods: Homeschool Enrichment

Five Acre Woods serves ages 6-11. For the 2023/2024 school year, our focus has been on Ancient History and the Human Body. Activities have included: mummifying apples, acting out an Egyptian burial, reading the Epic of Gilgamesh, filmmaking, listening to music from Mesopotamia, drawing Phoenician merchant ships, making Egyptian burial masks and more. For the human body, we have created skeleton systems, made model eyes, and digestive systems, learned about the muscles systems, and did activities related to our 5 senses. Our Sessions are held on Tuesdays and/or Wednesdays in Palmer Lake. Hygge School for our tweens and teens… We are currently beta testing our Hygge School program for tweens/teens. We will offer 2 shorter sessions/days this school year with the hopes of adding a full day for the 2024/2025 school year. Our Hygge School Program is for ages 11 -16 and focuses on social connections for tweens and young teens in a cozy, home environment. We structure our activities around a theme for each session. Activities include baking, poetry tea time, creative writing workshops, art tutorials, group singing, calligraphy, board games, yoga, sketching, etc.. Hygge School Sessions run every Tuesday in Palmer Lake.
