Schmeeckle Reserve is a 280-acre conservancy area located on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP), dedicated to protecting natural communities of central Wisconsin. It offers a variety of educational programs and community events, many of which focus on environmental education and are suitable for homeschoolers. These programs include free public nature programs in the spring and fall, presented by UWSP students studying environmental education and interpretation, which cover topics such as wildlife, plant life, and natural phenomena. The reserve features five miles of trails, a manmade lake, and various habitats that support diverse wildlife, making it a valuable resource for hands-on learning and exploration.
