Amherst Historical Society

The Amherst Historical Society is a dedicated institution aimed at collecting, preserving, interpreting, and educating the public about the rich history of the Amherst area. It serves as a resource center for those interested in the historical and cultural heritage of the region. The society offers various educational programs including exhibitions, lectures, workshops, and specialized educational tours designed for school children and students. These initiatives make it an invaluable resource for homeschooling families looking to incorporate local history and cultural studies into their curriculum. The society provides access to online books, documents, and information about historic buildings in Amherst, and holds events and programs throughout the year that engage people of all ages in interpreting artifacts and historical records.
