The Earth and Space Science Laboratory (ESSL) is a state-of-the-art STEM facility operated by Frederick County Public Schools. It serves as an educational center that enriches and extends elementary science curricula. The ESSL offers a variety of earth and space science program offerings for over 17,000 students annually. It features interactive exhibits on science, technology, and history, and includes the Ausherman Planetarium. The facility is open for educational visits where families and school groups can engage with hands-on learning about earth and space sciences through workshops, planetarium shows, and special exhibits.
