Where HomeTrail Weather Forecasts Come From

HomeTrail uses OpenWeather forecasts for your saved family location; learn what to check when the forecast looks wrong.

Updated October 3, 2026

Where do you get your forecast?

HomeTrail gets its weather forecasts from OpenWeather, using the coordinates of your saved family location. The forecast is provider data, not a prediction written by HomeTrail's AI.

Forecasts are refreshed periodically and can change. A displayed forecast may reflect the last successful update rather than live conditions.

What if the forecast looks wrong or is missing?

On the HomeTrail website, open Home and review your family's Location setting. Make sure the selected place matches the city you intended, then refresh the page. If the location is correct but the weather still looks wrong or is missing, contact support and describe the date and screen where you see the problem. You do not need to include your home address.
