How do I add a recurring task?

Updated December 2, 2025

Option 1: Add Recurring Days Through Custom Curriculum (Day Page)

This is the best option if you want an activity (like Music, Therapy, Read Aloud, or Math Practice) to appear on specific days of the week over a set period of time, or just indefinitely.

How it works

On any Day Page, scroll to the bottom where you’ll see the Custom Curriculum module.

  1. Select My Activities under Add New Custom Curriculum Item.

  2. Choose one of the following:

    • Add an existing activity you’ve already used, or

    • Create a brand new activity

  3. Once you select or create the activity, add it to Custom Curriculum.

  4. You then have the option to choose:

    • How long the activity spans (start/end or time range)

    • Which days of the week it repeats (recurring days)

    • If it is part of a project.

✅ This creates a dependable routine while still letting you control the schedule.

Option 2: Copy a Week in the Web Planner (Mirrors Your Routine)

If your schedule is already planned out for one week (even partially), you can reuse it across other weeks using the Copy Week feature in the web Planner.

Important note

You can only copy weeks that have existing planned activities.

How it works

  1. Go to the web Planner:
    https://hometrail.net/planner

  2. Navigate to a week that already has planned activities.

  3. Click Copy Week.

  4. Choose the previous or upcoming week you want to copy into.

Example:
If you planned Music Lessons on Tuesday and Thursday, copying that week will mirror those activities exactly into the new week—same days, same layout.

✅ This is perfect for families who plan weekly but want consistency without re-entering tasks every time.
