How do I log attendance from a previous date?

Updated December 2, 2025

If you forgot to mark attendance on a past day, HomeTrail makes it easy to back-fill attendance so your records stay accurate. It is especially helpful if you’re catching up for the week (or month).

✅ Best Method: Back-Fill Attendance in the Web Planner (Recommended)

The fastest way to add attendance to previous days is through the Planner on the web.

  1. Go to the web Planner:
    https://hometrail.net/planner

  2. Navigate to the week that contains the day you want to update.

  3. Find the student on that day and mark attendance for each day you want to count.

  4. Your totals will update automatically and show in reports.

💡 This method is ideal when you need to mark multiple days at once.

📱 Back-Fill Attendance in the App (Single-Day Updates)

If you just need to update one or two days, you can do it from the app:

  1. Open the HomeTrail app

  2. Go to the Day Page

  3. Scroll through the top bar to go back to the desired date.

  4. Mark the student as Attended

🔥 Tip for Staying Consistent

If you find yourself frequently forgetting to log attendance, consider enabling Daily Check-Ins (and setting them for weekdays only if needed) so attendance is easier to keep up with.
