The Day Page is one of the most important parts of HomeTrail. It is your daily homeschool dashboard and a place where everything for a specific day comes together in one clear view.
Whether you are planning ahead, logging learning afterward, or capturing spontaneous moments, the Day Page helps you stay organized without overcomplicating your routine.
The Day Page is a daily snapshot of your homeschool life. It shows what happened (or what is planned) on a specific date, including:
Completed sessions and activities
Custom Curriculum items to check off
Attendance tracking
Journal entries and reflections
Spontaneous learning moments
Think of it as your homeschool daily record.
You can open the Day Page from:
At the bottom of the Day Page, you will find your student’s Custom Curriculum list.
From here, you can:
Mark curriculum items as complete
Add session details like duration or notes
This makes the Day Page a powerful tool for daily curriculum tracking.
Sessions represent the actual learning that took place, such as books read, lessons completed, field trips, art projects, and more.
On the Day Page you can:
Add a new session
View completed sessions
Edit session details later
Track optional duration and subject data for reporting
Attendance can be logged directly from the Day Page.
If attendance tracking is enabled, you can:
Mark the student as attended
Ensure your homeschool days are recorded for state requirements
Back-fill attendance later through the web Planner if needed
The Day Page also supports journaling.
You can use it to record:
Daily highlights
Challenges or breakthroughs
Notes about behavior, motivation, or progress
Memories you want to preserve
Journal entries help tell the story behind the data.
Not all learning is planned, and HomeTrail is built for that.
The Day Page is a great place to log moments like:
Baking together
Nature walks
Museum trips
Board games
Life skills and real-world learning
Spontaneous learning counts, and the Day Page helps you capture it easily.
The Day Page is where planning and real life meet.
It helps you:
Stay consistent without rigid schedules
Keep daily records in one place
Build meaningful documentation over time
Track both structure and spontaneity
Reflect on progress beyond checklists
Homeschooling is made up of days, not just semesters, and the Day Page is where those days come to life.
