Connecting TrailGuide with SMS or WhatsApp

TrailGuide uses SMS for US and Canada mobile numbers and WhatsApp for other supported countries.

Connect your phone

1. Open Plus Hub → TrailGuide.
2. Select the country and enter the mobile number.
3. Review and accept the messaging and AI-processing consent.
4. Choose Connect TrailGuide.

For SMS, HomeTrail sends the introduction to your phone.

For WhatsApp:

1. Choose Open WhatsApp / WhatsApp Web.
2. Select Continue to WhatsApp Web or Open app.
3. Send the prepared, time-limited START … setup message without changing it.
4. Return to HomeTrail after the pairing message is sent.

TrailGuide remains inactive and does not process ordinary requests while pairing is pending. One mobile number cannot be connected to multiple HomeTrail accounts.

Messages and attachments sent through WhatsApp are processed by Twilio and WhatsApp/Meta for delivery before HomeTrail handles the request. TrailGuide may use configured business AI providers for relevant family context and attachments. Student-work photos may receive AI-assisted feedback, never official grades or scores.

Reply STOP at any time to opt out. Reconnecting after STOP requires fresh consent and a new pairing flow.
