The onboarding flow at /onboarding collects the family context needed to prepare useful Compass, TrailGuide, and Nest experiences.
During setup, you can:
- Complete Who are you teaching?
- Describe How do you like to homeschool? Families arriving through HomeTrail’s broader family-learning pages may instead see How does learning fit into your family? Everyone can choose School plus family-led learning when that best describes their approach.
- Add What do you already use day to day?
- Confirm your location and school year.
- Explore the sample demo, then choose Explore Plus or Continue free.
- If exploring Plus, choose your plan — Annual — $199/yr (best for the school year) or Monthly — $19.99/mo — and select Continue to secure checkout to finish on Stripe's checkout page.
Items entered under What do you already use day to day? are saved as Custom Curriculum and appear in the Planner. If you do not choose weekdays, an item is available every day. If you choose weekdays, it appears on those recurring days. These items are ready to check off in the Planner; they are not separate, explicitly dated sessions unless you plan one for a particular date and time.
The Plus trial lasts 10 days, and checkout shows no charge today. You can manage or cancel the subscription from Billing before the trial ends.
After checkout you land in Plus Hub, where a Connect your phone for TrailGuide banner helps you link SMS or WhatsApp. You can do this anytime — TrailGuide setup is always available from Plus Hub → TrailGuide.
The setup examples use representative data; they do not publish your family information. After setup, open each Plus tab to review Compass learning maps, Nest access, and TrailGuide messaging preferences.
