Using Nest, the Student App

Nest is HomeTrail's student app experience for Plus families. It gives students a focused place to see learning cards, messages, generated packs, and planned activities.

In Nest, students can:

  • Open generated pack cards
  • View Trail Mail from a parent
  • See student-facing planned activities
  • Mark generated pack cards as viewed or skipped
  • Complete interactive or reviewable pack activities when supported

Parents control which students have student app access. If a student should not use Nest, turn off student app access for that student in HomeTrail.

Generated Cards in Nest

Generated pack cards are created by HomeTrail or TrailGuide for a specific student and date. Cards can include activities like cursive practice, word searches, quizzes, articles, videos, and other learning prompts.

Student skip is a student action inside Nest. It is different from a parent deleting or archiving a generated card.

If a generated card needs to be removed from Nest, email [email protected] with the date, student name, and card title.
