New in HomeTrail Plus.

Custom printable coloring pages made from their ideas

Describe a friendly scene, choose the amount of detail, and HomeTrail makes one original black-and-white page for your child. Color in Nest or print a full page for a quiet creative activity.

HomeTrail Plus is $19.99/month or $199/year after the trial. Coloring pages are generated with AI, so a parent should review each finished page before handing it to a child.

The short answer.

Can you make a custom coloring page from an idea?

Yes. In HomeTrail Plus, a parent describes an original scene and picks a simple, balanced, or detailed layout. HomeTrail generates one portrait coloring page with black lines on a white background. The child can color it in Nest or the family can include it in a printable Nest Daily Edition.

Three small steps.

From a child’s idea to a page in Nest

No prompt-writing expertise needed. A concrete scene and a detail choice are enough.

01. Describe the scene
Try “friendly dinosaurs exploring space” or “a fox reading beside a mushroom house.” Keep private personal details out of the description.
02. Choose the detail
Simple uses larger spaces and bold outlines. Balanced adds a few supporting elements. Detailed creates more varied spaces without asking for a cluttered page.
03. Color or print
Send the finished page to Nest for finger or stylus coloring, or print it on paper as part of the child’s Daily Edition.

A quiet digital canvas without an endless feed

The page opens inside Nest, HomeTrail’s student app. Children get a color palette, brush-size control, eraser, undo, and clear tools. Their drawing stays attached to the activity instead of disappearing into a general-purpose drawing app.

Print the whole page.

Full-page paper, not a tiny box in the day

Printable Coloring Page packs receive a dedicated full US Letter page in a Nest Daily Edition. HomeTrail hides the on-screen coloring controls and drawing layer, then scales the artwork to the available paper area without cropping it.

What should I ask for?

Coloring-page ideas that work well

A specific subject plus one small action usually gives the page a clearer focal point.

Interest-led
A submarine discovering a friendly deep-sea garden.
Seasonal
Woodland animals gathering apples on a crisp fall day.
Learning tie-in
The water cycle shown as a cheerful mountain landscape.
Just for fun
A dragon baking tiny pies in a cottage kitchen.

Useful limits.

Original pages, with a parent still in the loop

HomeTrail is designed for original, generic scenes. If a request names a protected character, brand mascot, celebrity, or living artist’s style, the generator is instructed to reinterpret the idea as a new original, generic version rather than copy the recognizable design.

Image generation can still surprise you. Review the result for age fit, accuracy, and any odd visual details. If it misses the mark, make a new page with a clearer scene or a different detail level.

Common questions.

About custom coloring pages in HomeTrail

Is the coloring page printable?

Can my child color it on a tablet?

Yes. In Nest, a child can use a finger or stylus with the built-in palette, brush, eraser, undo, and clear controls.

How many pages does one request create?

One request creates one finished coloring page. You can generate another pack when you want a different scene.

Is this part of HomeTrail Free?

No. Generated packs and Nest are HomeTrail Plus features. Plus includes a 10-day trial and then costs $19.99/month or $199/year unless canceled.
