Turn a text into a learning record
Tell TrailGuide what actually happened. Include the child, activity, date, duration, and details you want saved. It can ask for missing information and usually shows a confirmation before changing family records.

No. A notebook or spreadsheet may be enough if you enjoy keeping it up and can find what you need later. Start there if a shared digital record would add more work than it saves.

Can I log learning without scheduling it first?
Yes. Record a completed activity after it happens. You can also plan things that do need a date, such as a class or an outing.
Is the unschooling planner free?
The core planner, attendance, Journey logs, and portfolio reports are free. TrailGuide text logging and the other Plus features require HomeTrail Plus.
Does my child need to use an app?
No. You can use HomeTrail for parent-side planning and records while the learning happens offline. Nest, the student app included with Plus, is optional.
Can I use it alongside curriculum or unit studies?
Yes. Keep planned activities and spontaneous learning together. Using a book, class, or unit study does not require you to plan every other part of the day.
