Create Your Own Activity in HomeTrail (and Add It to Your Custom Curriculum)
Every family learns differently, and thatâÂÂs the beauty of homeschooling. With HomeTrail, youâÂÂre not locked into someone elseâÂÂs idea of what learning should look like. Our Custom Curriculum feature lets you build a rhythm that fits your family, and that includes adding your own activities, your own way.
HereâÂÂs how to create an activity and make it part of your personalized learning journey:
ð Step 1: Create a New Activity
Whether itâÂÂs a nature walk, a baking project, or your home library, you can create an activity in just a few taps.
Open the HomeTrail app
Navigate to the bottom of the Home Page and click My Activities
Tap âÂÂCreate New ActivityâÂÂ
Add the key details:
Title: Name your activity (e.g. âÂÂBuild a Rain GaugeâÂÂ)
Description: Add instructions, prompts, or notes for yourself
Link (optional): Link to a project or activity you are following
𧩠Step 2: Add the Activity to Your Custom Curriculum
Once your activity is saved, itâÂÂs easy to plug it into your existing curriculum:
Go to the My Activities section of the app you were just in
Find your activity and tap âÂÂAdd to Custom CurriculumâÂÂ
Assign it to a child, and optionally select start date, end date, days of the week, or projects your activity is part of
ThatâÂÂs it! Your personalized activity is now part of your homeschool plan.
ð¯ Why It Matters
Adding your own activities gives you the power to:
Honor your childâÂÂs interests
Integrate hands-on learning
Blend multiple subjects into one project
Keep your homeschool experience flexible, intentional, and family-led
ItâÂÂs also a great way to track what youâÂÂre doing for end-of-year assessments or just for your own peace of mind.
ð¡ Final Tip
Activities you create can be reused and adapted! Use them across kids, tweak them over time, or save your favorite ideas to build out next yearâÂÂs plan with ease.
Start building your curriculum your way. HomeTrail gives you the structure; you bring the spark. ðÂÂÂ
