Custom Curriculum keeps the resources and activities your family already uses available in the Planner. You can choose students, recurring weekdays, and optional start or end dates, then check off the work as it is completed.
Add one of your own activities
- Open Pathfinder → Custom Curriculum.
- Choose Your Activities.
- Choose Add Activity and enter the activity name. You can also add an optional description or link.
- Select Add to Custom Curriculum next.
- Choose Save Activity.
- Select the students, subjects, and schedule details for the curriculum item, then save it.
To use a public resource instead, open Pathfinder → Custom Curriculum, choose Discover Resources, and add the resource from its listing.
Custom Curriculum is available on HomeTrail's free plan. Adding a curriculum item does not publish your family's student assignments or schedule.
Choose when it appears
- Select weekdays when the item should recur only on those days.
- Leave all weekdays unselected when it should be available every day.
- Add an optional start date when it should begin later.
- Add an optional end date when it should stop appearing after a certain day.
If two students use the same resource on different schedules, create separate Custom Curriculum items so each student gets the right days.
Complete curriculum in the Planner
- Open Planner → Week.
- Find the Custom Curriculum panel on an applicable day. Today's panel opens automatically; other days show a completed count such as 0/3 done until you expand them.
- Select an item to mark it complete for that day. Select it again to mark it incomplete.
The Planner shows the curriculum item's name and creates a learning-session record when you mark it complete. That completed record can be used by HomeTrail's progress and reporting tools.
Custom Curriculum availability is different from an explicitly dated session. The curriculum remains available according to its recurring schedule. To place one lesson at a particular date or time, use Add Activity in the Planner or ask TrailGuide to plan the specific session.
Edit, archive, or delete an item
Open Pathfinder → Custom Curriculum and select the edit action for the item. An item with no completed sessions can be deleted. When an item already has session history, HomeTrail offers Archive so the earlier learning records remain intact while the item stops appearing in the Planner.
