What counts as evidence?
Focus: Sort fossils, reconstructions, observations, and guesses.
- Examine museum fossil images.
- Label what is directly preserved and what is reconstructed.
- Write one claim and the evidence that supports it.

Make and read a trace
Focus: Use a model imprint to discuss how traces form and what they can preserve.
- Press a shell, leaf, or model foot into clay.
- Swap imprints and infer what made them.
- List information the trace cannot provide.

Day 3
Deep time
Focus: Place the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous in order, using accurate spacing or clearly labeling a simplified timeline.
- Build a proportional or clearly labeled simplified timeline.
- Place selected dinosaurs using museum data.
- Add the present and notice the scale.

Compare structures
Focus: Connect body structures with possible functions while keeping inference visible.
- Compare teeth, limbs, hips, or feet from two dinosaurs.
- Draw similarities and differences.
- Use may or suggests when evidence does not prove behavior.
