First find the kind of work you are completing. A dated activity, a recurring Rhythm lesson, and a child's generated Nest material have different completion controls. Opening or generating a material does not mark it complete.
Complete a planned activity or recurring lesson on the website
- Open Planner, choose the date, and open its Day page.
- For a planned activity, select its completion checkbox, labelled Mark complete. For a recurring Rhythm item, select the checkbox for that student's item on that day.
- Open the dated record to add or correct notes and duration. Editing details alone is not the same as marking the activity complete.
Use Mark incomplete if you checked the wrong item. Do not create a second activity just to complete the first one.
A child forgot to mark a Nest material complete
On the HomeTrail website, open Planner → Week, find the child's material on its planned day, and select the material's Mark complete control. You can also open the activity's materials to find this control. Check the child's name when there are multiple copies. Use the material's control, not just the surrounding activity checkbox, so the Nest material completion is updated too.
The control is available for ready, non-archived materials dated today or earlier. Use Mark incomplete to undo completion without deleting the saved material. A material for a future day cannot be marked complete yet. Nest materials require HomeTrail Plus to create; creating or delivering them is not completed learning.
If you cannot find the matching control in the parent app, use the website steps above. Do not assume checking off a generic activity in the app updates a Nest material too.
Recurring learning in the parent app
On Day, choose the date and find the recurring curriculum item. Tap its checkbox to mark it complete. Open the completed entry to edit its details. For spontaneous learning that has not been recorded yet, use Spontaneous Learning → Add New instead.
