What’s New with HomeTrail

On the website, Compass planning references open as ordinary activities for notes and completion, with source page details and a separate View source PDF link when the original is available.

In Compass, choose a child, talk through a useful starting point, and review the exact focus and support before saving it for future learning.

On the website, review a student’s saved records and the effect of each removal, keep shared learning available for other students, then confirm permanent profile deletion by typing the student’s name.

Ask Help has clearer guidance for free repeating activities, student browser access, texting TrailGuide, and the difference between planned and spontaneous learning.

With Plus on the website, add a title, instructions, and a specific link to a Rhythm activity in Day or the Planner, then keep those details when you mark it complete.

Completing or undoing a shared activity in Nest now updates only that child, while siblings keep their own completion status and the shared materials stay saved.

Archive activities on the website to clear your everyday list while keeping learning records, photos, and reporting history, and restore them whenever you need them.

Ask how to approach a broad learning topic and TrailGuide suggests a suitable material, then asks before researching or creating it.

Ask TrailGuide to stop a recurring pack for a student. You can also ask it to archive that schedule’s existing cards while preserving saved work.

Ask Help explains Rhythm naming limits and student deletion restrictions, and asks for missing context instead of guessing at a follow-up.

HomeTrail parent app 1.11 brings a refreshed Home, clearer Day and Planner views, reports, and Plus material creation with separate child copies.

When you send a photo without a recent activity, TrailGuide keeps it while asking whether to attach it to an existing activity or log something new.

Ask Help now distinguishes app and website steps, with clearer guidance for student sign-in, recording learning, completing Nest materials, and upload problems.

The Updates bell now follows reports you generate on demand, letting you know when they are ready or need another try while you keep using HomeTrail.

If your child forgets to check off a Nest card, mark that individual material complete or incomplete from web Day, Planner, or its activity editor while keeping saved work.

The web Day page now keeps recurring activities aligned with the date shown at the top, fixing an issue that could show the previous weekday’s activities in some timezones.

Ask TrailGuide from Rhythm or by message to start at a later lesson and spread each week across learning days, with follow-up questions about existing progress and saved work before you confirm.

Open a dated activity in the web Planner, select Mark complete or Mark incomplete, and save your changes to update its status.

Browse learning ideas in Compass, record or correct observations, and explore tentative next steps without placing your child in a grade or following a fixed sequence.

Delete a student who has no saved Sessions from Your family rhythm, with confirmation and safeguards that keep existing learning records protected.

TrailGuide finds more eligible podcast episodes and tells you when podcast search is unavailable, while keeping useful article and video results from mixed searches.

Create progress, grade, and year-end reports in Records & progress, follow their status, and open or download the finished report without leaving Home to start it.

Jump to any month in Journey on the web, browse activities with photos, and open their collages in a full-screen viewer while prints and exports keep all matching learning records.

Web and mobile activity editors now ask you to correct invalid durations before saving, accepting whole minutes up to 24 hours and treating zero as no recorded time.

Save Pathfinder activities and projects with optional start or end dates left blank, so an open-ended plan does not stop you from saving.

Review one shared draft, choose the children, day, and optional subjects, and prepare their copies before deciding how each child will use it; sending a copy to Nest also adds it to their plan.

Close Create while a material is being made, then use the Updates bell to check progress, reopen Review & finish, or see when another try is needed.

Print worksheets without choosing a child, or prepare each child’s copy to get their own expiring web link with separate answers and completion, without installing Nest or logging in.

Attach a worksheet, reading, or other PDF up to 50 MB beside the materials already saved with an activity.

Save the activity, upload its curriculum PDF in the same editor, and return to review the lesson sequence when it is ready.

Create an Explainer with or without a source, with a shared family allowance of 20 on-demand materials a day on paid Plus or 5 during a trial; scheduled packs and delivery copies do not count.

Journey now includes materials on past and current planned days before they are finished, while reports and exports continue to use completed learning.

Add students, update grades and attendance criteria, manage subjects and school-year dates, and adjust recurring activities, check-ins, and weekly reports without leaving Home.

HomeTrail setup now explains your why, keeps examples visible, lets you edit recognized Rhythm items before continuing, and puts the Free or Plus choice on one screen.

Create materials for a planned day, review them before delivery, and keep them with the learning they support.

Pathfinder now prevents an Activity from being deleted while Rhythm still uses it, keeping future Days and completed learning records consistent.

HomeTrail now saves what you type about your recurring week through refreshes, keeps submitted wording with your family setup, and gives families who skip a clear path to add their first Rhythm item from Home.

Home now shows attendance, time outdoors, and Sessions by subject alongside direct paths to Reports, Portfolios, Journey, and existing check-in settings.

After setup, HomeTrail now shows how Plus generates materials, gives kids a student app, and adds a homeschooling assistant, then lets you choose See Plus trial options or Continue free.

Home, Planner, Day, Pathfinder, reports, portfolios, and help now use Rhythm as one consistent name for recurring curriculum and activities.

Manage subjects inline, name the specific recurring activity, start with weekdays, and keep it ongoing or limit it to a date range.

Completed Nest packs and masterpieces now contribute to learning records and reports after the student finishes them.

Send TrailGuide one or more YouTube links with optional titles and descriptions, and it now keeps the full request together when preparing the videos for a student’s Nest.

Add a child from the student list in Your Rhythm and keep working without making a separate trip to Trailhead.

HomeTrail setup now makes school-year choices clearer, saves curriculum and routines as soon as you add them, and processes text left in the box before you continue.

Home now brings your recurring family rhythm, preview-first next steps, setup and feature guides, and an Ask tool that streams one independent answer at a time into one calmer place.

Choose a date range, week or agenda layout, family members, and completed-work visibility, then print a clean calendar with its setup controls hidden.

Browse public listings for local classes, enrichment, hybrid options, learning centers, and other homeschool support, with a separate directory when you are specifically looking for a co-op.

Discover now applies grade, subject, source type, category, tag, and location filters reliably, shows how many sources match, and makes it easy to clear every filter and start again.

Browse practical homeschool guides, find tools in the redesigned Resources directory, and choose from seven free unit studies with reviewed PDF workbooks and short podcasts.

Rhythm items appear on applicable Planner days with today’s list open and can be checked off even when an older item was missing its activity link.

TrailGuide now reports recurring Rhythm items separately from dated Sessions and keeps specifically named planned or logged activities from being replaced by merely similar ones.

Remove every planner session created by a confirmed curriculum PDF import at once, with a warning when the plan contains completed sessions, uploaded files, or portfolio entries.

Location suggestions now load reliably during setup, helping families confirm their city and time zone and continue onboarding.

Browse public co-op listings by location, compare nearby groups, and tell HomeTrail when a listing is missing or needs an update.

Progress, Grade, and Year-End Reports now include time spent on each activity, while Journey and Portfolio exports carry that time into readable and data files.

Multiple-choice quizzes now independently mix answer positions across A–D, while capitalization-safe choices and stricter completion checks keep generated quizzes dependable.

Switch between Week and Month, move through months, and add or edit activities from a responsive calendar while keeping your date context.

Choose any Monday–Sunday week from the new calendar, keep that week when refreshing or sharing the page, and stay on the date you were viewing after deleting a session.

Compass now works through long, readable curriculum PDFs in sections and combines lessons from the beginning through the end into one reviewable planner draft.

Choose pre-writing, print, name, number, or cursive practice, then adjust the tracing, copywork, practice-line, and drawing options that fit that worksheet.

Ask TrailGuide to update a student’s grade after confirmation. Future packs and worksheets use the new grade while earlier attendance and learning records remain intact.

Ask TrailGuide to find current, grade-appropriate learning materials, review a short list, and approve what reaches a student in Nest.

Leave a publisher out of one search, or confirm a saved exclusion for future article, video, and podcast research.

TrailGuide can use parent-approved sources to create an original, source-backed explanation or a short audio episode for a student.

Existing HomeTrail users can follow an invitation, sign in, and continue accepting it without losing their place.

Make an original coloring page for a student, color it with a finger or stylus in Nest, or print it on a full Letter page.

Switching between HomeTrail Plus billing plans now completes cleanly in both Stripe and HomeTrail.

Parents can clear finished or unwanted generated cards from a student’s active Nest view and restore them later without deleting the recurring pack setup.

Newsworthy cards can include their readable article text in a paper edition, with safer fallbacks when a publisher blocks retrieval.

A Daily Edition can include older packs a student has not opened or skipped, so unfinished work does not disappear from the paper plan.

HomeTrail now prefers explicit skills and curriculum context, recommends suitable worksheet types, and asks for clarification instead of guessing.

Forward or upload an eligible learning report PDF, then review the draft sessions, grades, and attendance before anything is saved.

The revised setup introduces the Plus tools, lets families try sample materials, completes checkout securely, and then guides phone connection from the Plus Hub.

Move a missed lesson and ask TrailGuide to reschedule the remaining incomplete lessons while preserving completed work and notes.

Supported generated quizzes and math worksheets now place their parent-only answer guide closer to the work you are reviewing.

Supported quizzes and math worksheets can include reliable structured answers protected from the student view by the parental PIN.

Upload curriculum material you are authorized to use and review the lesson sequence Compass drafts before adding it to the Planner.

Ask TrailGuide to gather a student’s available activities into a private, paper-friendly edition with printable work and links back to Nest.

HomeTrail uses relevant learning context and saved worksheet guidance to create more predictable packs while keeping private notes out of generated materials.

Compass now separates reading the student’s page from checking readable answers against HomeTrail’s saved guide, while unclear marks remain uncertain instead of being guessed.

HomeTrail now checks whether an SMS number is usable during setup, making invalid-number errors clearer before activation continues.

Curly quotes, apostrophes, and other punctuation now render cleanly instead of appearing as broken characters in imported help articles.

Day, Planner, mobile views, and Nest now use the same date-aware moon phase data so the phase does not shift between screens or time zones.

Rhythm items created without a source can now be reopened and edited without the form getting stuck or showing stale information.

Plus setup can use a family’s students, learning approach, curriculum, and priorities to show sample Nest materials before the trial decision.

TrailGuide can search for suitable current materials, use relevant Compass context to check fit, and wait for parent approval before anything appears for a student.

Compass can review supported Nest worksheet submissions or a clear photo sent by a parent, then provide parent-facing feedback and suggested next steps.

Compass can preserve an appropriate requested theme while planning and generating a math worksheet, helping practice feel more connected to the student.

Successful WhatsApp pairing is recognized more reliably, while pending setup, consent, opt-out, and replay messages stay in the correct setup flow.

Updating a daily check-in time from Trailhead or the mobile app now preserves the chosen time correctly.

When a pack request is already clear and safe, TrailGuide can queue it directly instead of asking for an unnecessary extra confirmation.

Cursive Practice now uses one consistent worksheet format designed for handwriting practice and printing.

Compass can better match everyday descriptions of a worksheet to the available skill and layout choices before generation.
